OK! So sell the crap....errrmmm "stuff" you got, and buy another box, and another until they are gone! DOUBLE BONUS! You could donate mad amounts of money to that charity by doing that several times, and keep any real gems you find along the way....although I would keep WWJD in German because no matter what you say, it sounds really angry and the irony is fun. :)

Hey Ken,
This story brought back some great memories for me...although my memory isn't so great these days (smile). I remember going around the neighborhood near Central playing this game. I remember our team received an old tub, but I can't remember how exactly we got it back to the church! Fun times!!!

Blake! it takes time, bro. You've got to remember that most of these people aren't used to having a youth pastor. And they assume that the church is doing good things. I rarely have parents inquire as to what we are teaching.

Keep building relationships like you did at the school. take parents out to lunch. that's what I'm doing this week.

Dude, I just had a parent meeting, and a sponsor meeting, and I still have not met 1/2 of the kids parents who come.

They don;t call, email, or even see who is teaching their kids and what exactly they are teaching them.

I think this will always be a sad and losing battle...
