Can an apple tree pollinate a pear tree?
I bought an ‘orchard’ collection this year for our garden. This consists of a plum tree, pear tree and an apple tree. I understand without pollination the fruit yield will be rather poor. Will these trees pollinate each other or should i buy another mini ‘orchard’?
They will not cross pollinate each other. You will need another variety to do so. If space is limited you can get “Family” trees. These are trees with 2 or more varieties grafted onto the one root stock. This is something I am looking to do.
